ABOUT
I grew up in Seattle, where my passion for art emerged at an early age. According to my mother, a sheet of paper and a pencil were the only things that could truly keep me engaged. While I always loved creating, it was during high school that I discovered a deeper connection to sculpture and painting.
I went on to study at Santa Clara University, where I earned a major in Art with a minor in Art History. During my time there, I also studied abroad in Florence, Italy, at Firenze d’Medici. Immersed in the rich artistic heritage of Italy, I studied fresco restoration, photography, and numerous art history courses. This experience profoundly influenced my artistic perspective and introduced me to new modes of expression rooted in centuries of tradition.
Fresco work, much like encaustic or oil painting, requires a layered and methodical approach—working in sections to create work that endures over time. Today, mixed media painting allows me to merge my love of sculpture and painting into a single practice. The movement and depth within each piece continue to surprise me, making the creative process both dynamic and deeply rewarding.
