ABOUT

IMG_3593.jpg

I grew up in Seattle where as a child I always loved art. My mother would say- some paper and a pencil was the only thing that would keep her occupied. It wasn’t until high school where I really discovered my love of sculpture and painting.

I declared Art my major and Art History my minor at Santa Clara University. During my time at Santa Clara, I also studied abroad in Florence Italy at Firenze d’Medici. While there I was able to take fresco restoration, dozens of art history courses as well as photography.

Immersing myself in the culture and great history of the ancient arts of Italy really opened my eyes to new forms of expression. Fresco work is much like encaustic.

You must work in sections and layers creating a piece that stands the test of time. Encaustic art is a perfect mix of my love for sculpture and painting combined into one. The movement seen in each piece is spectacular and surprises me every time.
