Truly playful discovery was the basis of this piece. I began the process from dark to light instead of light to dark with a matte black base. To that I added layer upon layer of cold wax infused with oil paint. To add intrigue and texture I then began to carve away at the structure the wax had created using pottery tools to etch away and create shape and unity. The piece measures 60×72H.
